Booking Policy

Please take a few moments to read and understand our booking policy.

  • A $200 pre-authorization will be placed on the credit card used at the time of booking to ensure a valid payment source. The funds on hold will be released after 7 days.

  • Guests are eligible for a full refund of their reservation if the cancellation occurs outside of 14 days.

  • 50% of the total reservation cost will be charged 14 days before the reservation check-in date and made non-refundable.

  • The remaining balance of the total reservation cost will be charged and made non-refundable 7 days before the reservation check-in date.

  • No-shows and early departures are not eligible for refunds.

  • We will review cancellation requests for emergencies on a case-by-case basis and might request further documentation/verification of the request.

  • Daily check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.

  • Occupancy limits (including dogs) are posted on the initial reservation and are strictly enforced due to local emergency regulations.

  • The maximum length for a single reservation is 29 days.

The information above applies to reservations booked directly through the property. If your reservation is made through an alternate platform (Booking.com, Expedia, AirBnB, VRBO, etc.), please refer to those specific cancellation policy details.

Guest Conduct Policy

We take our responsibility for ensuring all guests feel at home with us during their time in Tahoe very seriously. So, we ask that you please keep any rowdiness off the premises (perhaps one of the nearby casinos) so that we can maintain a safe, clean, and respectful vacationing space for all who visit.

  • We do not allow parties, unsponsored gatherings, or unruly/rowdy/violent behavior.

  • Please respect our property's non-smoking policy while in your room (this includes marijuana!). We have designated spaces outside for you to relax, and in addition to being extremely difficult to clean, the smell impacts the experience of our other guests.

  • Under city ordinance, on-site quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. If you create a disturbance to the point where you are disrupting the sleep of others and reducing the quality of the stay for our other guests, we can (and will) evict you from the property—so please don’t get there!!!

  • In other words - follow the golden rule. If you treat our employees, common areas, rooms, and other guests with respect, we won’t have any issues!

Inclement Weather Policy

We wish we could guarantee you great weather during your time in South Lake Tahoe! However, if the snow gods choose not to comply with your plans, here are our standard procedures:

There's a big storm in the forecast... Can we cancel our reservation?

We will refund one (1) night for each day during a reservation when the roads are closed for more than two (2) consecutive hours between 10 AM and 10 PM. Closures must be mandated by the California DOT or other government authority. Heavy traffic due to current weather conditions or accidents will not apply to this policy.

What if roads are open, but we do not feel safe driving?

If you do not feel safe driving, stay home! We will happily credit the total amount paid (less taxes) toward a future reservation for any Adventure Stays property. Please note that the credit will become non-refundable and must be applied to a new reservation within 12 months from your original reservation date.

Wow, it is a lot to consider if booking in the winter…

It’s a snow town, after all! But fear not! We are securing a deal for discounted travel insurance soon to help you (and us) sleep better at night during ski season!

Dog Policy

We believe every dog deserves a pawesome vacation, but we want to ensure all our guests have a pawsitive experience, too! So, we’re begging you to review this long list of drools before checking in.

  • Currently, we only allow non-aggressive, well-behaved dogs (sorry, cat-people)

  • Guests are limited to two (2) dogs maximum per reservation.

  • Our pet charge is $50 per pet. Our on-site team can see your dog running from your car to your room - please help us avoid the awkward conversation!

    • NOTE: This charge goes directly towards the additional housekeeping required to restore our room's cleanliness standards. Excessive shedding, odor, stains, and damage to flooring/fixtures/furniture will result in additional charges. The bottom line: please do not use our hotel as your dog’s grooming salon, and please leave the unit in the same shape you found it in.

  • Dogs must always be on leash while outdoors (liabilities, man!)

  • Dogs cannot be left alone in the room - see next…

  • Guest’s dogs are not allowed on any of the furniture.

  • Please pick up after your dog using supplies from our provided stations!

At the end of the day, dogs make life (and vacation) better. These rules exist to keep our employees safe, our other guests happy, and the property in good shape for many years to come.

Failure to Comply

We will do our best to work through on-site issues with guests, including warnings and settling charges, as required. The nature of the violation will always be considered, and the response proportional to the situation. However, in the event policy violations and/or complaints are unable to be resolved with guest(s) at the lowest level, property management reserves the right to remedy at their sole discretion, using up to and including the following actions: canceling the reservation without refund, calling the police, eviction from property, and pursuing criminal charges. Additionally:

  • Police Intervention Policy - On-site, police-required intervention involving guest(s) will result in immediate termination of the reservation and eviction of responsible parties from the property without a refund.

  • Non-Smoking Policy - Violating our on-site smoking policy will result in a $300 cleaning charge.

  • Dog Policy - We will give verbal and/or written warnings for complaints from other guests about dog behavior. If warnings are insufficient to resolve barking or other noises that prevent our other guests from having a pleasant stay, your reservation will be canceled without a refund.
